Chelsea have had a terrible season so far and find themselves in the 16th position on the English Premier League table after twelve league matches and are currently fighting relegation as they try to see what can be done o salvage the situation despite being the current defending champions of the Premiership title.
Jose Mourinho may have however found the solution to the club’s problems and he might believe that it will only take some serious experience and expertise to turn things around at the Stamford Bridge as he is trying to persuade Wesley Sneijder to sign for Chelsea, as per reports from Turkey. According to the reports, Mourinho has personally held talks with the player.
The 31-year-old Galatasaray midfielder has worked under Mourinho at Inter Milan and was a pivotal member of the Italian club’s treble-winning side in 2010 where he was obviously the engine room for the team.
Mourinho’s creative players at Chelsea have all failed to do much so far this season and have even looked a shadow of themselves with some of them playing without commitment and the Portuguese manager is looking to add an experienced player who might be able to teach the other players a thing or two to his midfield area in January.
According to reports from Fanatik, Mourinho has identified Sneijder as his prime target and Chelsea are prepared to meet the Dutchman’s £14m release-clause which is quite low for the kind of impact he will have at the club.
Sneijder joined Galatasaray from Inter in 2013 and has made over 100 appearances for the Turkish giants but will definitely add something missing to the Chelsea and will bring immense quality to the team.
