The Reds’ German tactician is known to be a huge admirer of youths and gave some of the club’s exciting youngsters a chance to prove themselves in the midweek’s Capital One Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Ahead of the crunch clash against Chelsea on Saturday, Klopp gave the report in his pre-match media duties.
“Of course I am looking at the loan players. When I have time I watch these players. I went to Wolverhampton to watch but he didn’t play,” the former Borussia Dortmund boss told reporters.
Klopp seems to be talking about Wolves’ recent 3-0 League Cup defeat to Middlesbrough, which is the only game Ojo has not featured this season.
Aside that, Ojo, 18, is doing well at Wolves so far this season and has bagged six goals this term.
Ojo also appears to be satisfied with life at Wolves this season. He said, earlier this month: “It’s going well and I feel I’m a lot more in the way that I play. The Championship is a very hard league to play in, but I’m really enjoying it, and just taking each games as it comes.”
The 18-year old is gunning for a place in Liverpool’s first team and is hoping to follow the tread of Jordan Ibe and Raheem Sterling.
“Them [Sterling and Ibe] being in the first team gives me hope that it could be me if I do well. Hopefully, when I am back at Liverpool and I’m an improved player ready to be involved in the first team.”
Liverpool face Chelsea in a Premier League crunch tie on Saturday, and Klopp will be hoping his side help him achieve his second win of his Reds’ era.
