Liverpool Star Ruled Out Of The Rest Of Season As Jurgen Klopp Hopes To Get Defender To Sign

As claimed by the Daily Mail, Liverpool are hoping to tie down youngster Connor Randall to a long-term deal as the Englishman makes the step up to the Reds’ first team.

Randall has earned promotion to Liverpool’s first-team from the club’s youth academy due to long-term injuries suffered by Joe Gomez and Jon Flanagan, says the newspaper.

The English youngster has been with the Anfield outfit since 2003 but is yet to make a first team bow. He spent a spell on loan at League Two side Shrewsbury Town last season, but made just one league appearance for the New Meadow outfit.

The 20-year old is also an England Under-17 international with four caps and scored against Finland in the Nordic Under-17 Football championship.

Whether Randall plays for Jürgen Klopp’s team this season remains to be seen but as long as summer signing from Southampton, Nathaniel Clyne, stays fit Liverpool supporters need not worry.

Flanagan impressed for the Reds in the 2013/14 season, but the Englishman missed the entirety of last campaign with a knee problem. However, he could be back in contention before the end of the year.

Gomez, too, has been ruled out for the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
