Jurgen Klopp has not had such a fine start in the English Premier League with Liverpool as he has had a start filled with regular injury setbacks. However, the German manager may finally have gotten some pretty good news this week as three of the club’s first-team players are now back in training ahead of this weekend’s match against League Leaders Manchester City.
According to reports from The Guardian on Monday morning, “James Milner and Jordon Ibe participated in full training on Monday. Both will be monitored by Liverpool’s medical staff this week for any bad reaction…but are in contention to face City. [Daniel] Sturridge has also returned to light training.”
Klopp recently claimed that James Milner is a complete midfielder so it is quite sure that he will field the England international in the starting line-up against his old club if he is fit enough.
Klopp might however be easier with Ibe, as there’s no point rushing him back, and given his recent injury problems, it might be best to take it easy with the Liverpool forward.
Sturridge is however another story, it will be senseless to even think about fielding him in such a match and even senseless to bring him at all City are not a team that can be flustered by the presence of such a player on the bench or on the field for their opponents.
Klopp’s probable team line-up therefore should be:
Clyne — Skrtel – Lovren — Moreno
Milner — Lucas — Can
Firmino – Coutino
