French news outlet L’Equipe has chipped in with claims that Liverpool are on the trail of Paris Saint-Germain teenage prospects Christopher Nkunku and Lamine Ba.
Jonathan Johnson [@Jon_LeGossip] tweeted: “Per L’Equipe, Liverpool scouted PSG’s Christopher Nkunku in the 4-1 win over Real Madrid in UYL this week. Lamine Ba also of interest to LFC.”
Nkunku and Baba, 17 and 18 respectively, have been targeted as players for the future, with Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp reportedly keen on the PSG duo.
As per L’Equipe, Liverpool sent officials to scout Nkunku in PSG’s 4-1 win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League this week as Klopp seeks to build a legacy at Anfield. Liverpool have won just one league game since August as they continue to struggle to return to their glory days.
Despite remaining unbeaten in nine games in all competitions, the Reds have succumbed to four successive draws – with their 1-1 draw against Southampton on Sunday afternoon leaving them in ninth position in the Premier League table having amassed just 14 points from 10 games.
Klopp has reportedly outlined some potential January targets, who can prove an instant hit at the club. The German has been linked with some of his stars at Borussia Dortmund as he seeks to instill his style at the Merseyside outfit.
