City rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle again as both clubs are now interested in the services of former AC Milan forward Alexandre PatoThe Brazilian forward who now plies his trade at home with Corinthians has expressed his desires to make an European comeback, and was close to an EPL move during the Summer transfer window as he was linked with an Old Trafford-move in the closing stages of the market. The 26 year-old has bounced back to life following the frequent long-term injury woes that kept him out of form while at Milan, and he is now once again the goal poacher he used to be.
Some reports say Liverpool have already agreed a deal in principle with the Brazilian club for a Winter move for the striker, but that doesn’t seem confirmed now that the London sides are interested in him. Tottenham is said to be at an advantage after planning to offer an 8 million Pound fee for the versatile forward.
A move to the EPL looks certain as other sides are also keeping tabs on the 2009 Golden Boy award winner. West Ham, Crystal Palace and Sunderland are still in the race to get Pato after failing to during the Summer, and it could eventually be a 6-way race for signature of the ex Selecao star.
Pato fits into Arsenal’s buildup and style of play, and will no doubt be on the way to reignite his career if a move to the Emirates Stadium works out. Having scored over 30 goals in over 80 appearances since his return to Brazil, he has only again proven his quality, and will be a great and quality addition to the Arsenal striking department.
