Henderson has not featured for Liverpool since suffering a broken foot way back in mid-August and was ruled out for at least three months after undergoing surgery.
Henderson is yet to play under new boss Jurgen Klopp following his appointment in October but that’s set to change over the coming weeks.
Henderson returned to light training at Melwood last week and Klopp confirmed over the weekend that the LFC captain could resume full training this week.
Henderson has now been speaking to the club’s official website and revealed that after a tough time on the sidelines, he’s now set to make his comeback from injury . He told the club’s website:
“I’m getting there,”
“This is one of the longest periods of time I’ve been out for and that has been tough for me. Hopefully I’m not too far away now.”
Henderson’s return will come as a big boost to Liverpool as his pace and tenacity have been missed in recent months.
However, the midfielder may have a job getting his place back after Liverpool’s sensational performance during their 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City on Saturday evening following a masterclass from Coutinho and Firmino.
Emre Can has been impressive alongside Lucas Leiva at so it will be quite interesting to see where Henderson features for Klopp.
