Liverpool shocked Manchester City and their fans when they thrashed the Noisy neighbours 4-1 in front of their home fans on Saturday in their English Premier League encounter but this match was played without any striker and they had to make do with the attacking trio of Phillipe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino.
The new manager Jurgen Klopp has been battling with the lack of good strikers in the club since his arrival as the Reds strikers have been battling with injuries and this has not been good for Liverpool as they have had to just struggle to keep their challenge up in the English Premier League.
The manager Jurgen Klopp is still obviously chasing after some fantastic strikers as reinforcements and his first signing might be a striker in the January transfer window according to the Italian source Calciomercato.
Reports from this same paper state that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi the Meyserside club’s top transfer target for January and admits that the young striker will be a perfect addition at Anfield.
Klopp has also recently admitted that some strikers will definitely leave the club by the January transfer window and although he has not mentioned names but definitely some other strikers might need to come in as Sturridge cannot be trusted to stay off injuries for the season.
Liverpool might however have to battle Chelsea and Manchester City for the signature of the 22-year-old who scored a huge 27 goals in all competitions last season and also finished as joint-top scorer in Serie A alongside Verona’s Luca Toni.
