Mats Hummels could decide to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer as he has grown increasingly frustrated at the team recently, a hint at an exit could spike Manchester United to sign him.

After months of speculation surrounding his future at the club, the Germany defender committed his future to Dortmund before the start of the season. He admitted interest from Manchester United was an honour, but explained he chose to stay at Dortmund. However, things have not been all rosy in recent days.

His performances in the league this term have been subjected to heavy criticism from all quarters and there are claims that he has fallen out with  Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel.

In the background of all the speculations for Hummels at Dortmund, reports claim that Hummels is close to an exit from the Signal Iduna Park.

According to German daily Bild, the Germany international could leave Dortmund because of his consistent problems with the club and the coach.

Hummels has always been a solid rock in the heart of defence for Dortmund alongside Subotic.

Manchester United were keen to lure Hummels to Old Trafford in the summer before he made the decision to stay at the club at least until the end of the season.

Hummels’ current deal runs out in 2017 and Dortmund will be keen on letting him go before his contract expires so that Dortmund can make money off the deal.
