Chelsea’s position on the Premier league log leaves so much to be desired – the League defending Champions are currently 14th on the table, with the hopes of qualifying for the next Champions league already dashed.
With just a little over a week to the end of the January transfer window, Chelsea have become very active in the market looking for reinforcements. According to latest report by Sky Italia, Chelsea are very close to completing a deal for PSG misfit and want-away winger Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Alejandro Mazzoni, who represents the 30-year-old Argentine, has reportedly flown into London in a bid to meet with the officials of Chelsea. However, there is no telling if their meeting is scheduled for a potential move of the player.
Since Angel Di Maria moved from Manchester United to Parc des Princes, Lavezzi has found it difficult to star regularly for the French Champions. He has made 16 League appearances but 13 of them have been from the bench.
It is believed that Hiddink can grant the player regular playing time at Chelsea following the dip in form of most of the attackers. Remy and Falcao have been linked with moving away from the Stamford Bridge and they must be replaced if sold.
The Blues are also linked with a move for arrays of attacker in Europe including Alex Texeira, Alexandre Pato and Saido Berahino.
