Liverpool vice-captain James Milner has admitted that the Reds striker makes him sick when he is watching him in training.
The midfielder was obviously joking about this when he said that the forward had returned from an injury quickly and was doing so well just back from the injury. He claimed that the striker has been playing like he was never out of action with a knee injury.
Milner said, “He has been out a long time but he has looked sharp in training, with his shots and turns. It was ridiculous, made me sick to be honest, that he could do that straight away.”
“He can be a big player for us.”
Milner continued when he spoke about Philippe Coutinho and he said everyone is hoping that the injury will not keep him out for too long.
He said, “We need Philippe to be OK, he was feeling his hamstring.”
“We also need some of the other players back.”
“We had Daniel Sturridge on the bench at City, that’s nice to see. It will be nicer to see him back on the pitch.”
“We’ve had ups and downs with injuries but we won’t use that as an excuse.”
Despite not playing with a natural number 9 against Manchester City, the Reds frontline of Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Phillipe Coutinho trounced City’s defences and although Coutinho picked up an injury from the match, the players will still be happy that they were able to do well under new manager Jurgen Klopp and will be hoping that they will be more dangerous when their strikers return.
