After giving a tall order to end in top four of the League, Liverpool new boss Jurgen Klopp is actively rooting for a mixture of experience and quality players that can fire the Kop back to glory days of winning titles.
Brazil born attacker Alexandre Pato is on the verge of becoming a Liverpool player after the president of Corinthians Roberto de Andrede revealed that a deal has been agreed between both clubs, per reports. One of the major outlets carrying this report is BBC which further gives it some credibility.
Pato, 26, returned to Brazil in after an unsuccessful seven year spell at AC Milan as his career was threatened with injury. His return to Corinthians saw him revived his career and scored 9 goals in 30 games.
However, he was loaned to Sao Paulo and is still impressive with the Brazilian club. meanwhile, the president of his parent club Andrede confirmed a deal with Liverpool when he said:
“There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks. Pato had long expressed a desire to return to Europe. Liverpool await, there are a few missing details, but Klopp will have a new reinforcement and for Pato the Premier League will be a new springboard.”
The report further stated that £17.5 million have been agreed between both parties. Pato is in the final year of the contract. If he isn’t sold by Conrinthians in January, he will leave the Brazilian side for free.
