Arsenal are keen to hold on to their key players as they risk losing them to the other high-spending sides in the coming transfer windows. With the contracts of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez still to expire by Summer 2018, the club is hoping both can commit their futures to the Emirates outfit, and their contracts will be renewed early next year.

Both players have been key parts of the Arsene Wenger-led side, and the coach has expressed his desire to have the pair continue at Arsenal. Having lost players like Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie due to failure to enter into negotiation talks as regarding a contract extension, Wenger won’t likely be repeating the same mistake again with the midfield duo.

Sanchez arrived from Barcelona during last year’s Summer transfer window and has since become a crucial part of the attack. The Chile international was highest goal scorer for the club in the League last season with 16 goals and is also on course to help the team with his goals this season.

Alongside Olivier Giroud, the winger has 6 League goals already this season; 2 of which came during the 3 – 0 demolition of Manchester United in September. There are talks that the Red Devils coach, LVG is interested in luring the versatile player to the Old Trafford with improved contracts, and Arsenal will be wary so as not to lose one of their best players.

Assist king, Mesut Ozil has been the heart of the Gunners’ midfield since his arrival from the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013. The Germany international currently top the assist charts all across Europe’s elite Leagues with 10 assists, and has been a constant part of the squad that got 8 wins out of 12 League games thus far.

Arsenal have improved in recent times in terms of spendings on transfer and contracts, and they will be hoping the results are delivered. Currently joint-leaders in the League alongside Manchester City, the London club will be hoping to win the title this season after more than a decade without it.
