Although naturally, Liverpool fans were quite excited by their team’s unbelievable trashing of former league leaders Manchester City on Saturday, the victory was even sweeter by the fact that arrogant Raheem Sterling was in the opposing side.
Sterling who grew up at Liverpool’s academy before been promoted to the first team shamefully fought Liverpool to seek a move away from Anfield. The comments from his agent Aidy Ward in particular went a long way to ensure Sterling’s long-term alienation from Reds fans, and ensured someone who would have been a Liverpool hero is reduced to a mere pariah.
Although Sterling has done considerably well for Manchester City in the short time he has been with the Citizens, he struggled against his former club as Firminho and Coutinho combined to deliver Jurgen Klopp his second majory victory against the title contesters – it eas first Chelsea.
Liverpool fans will be reminded of Sterling’s tweet last summer few days after he made his switch to City. Sterling’s arrogant tweet is reproduced below.
