According to the Daily Star, Manchester United have agreed a whooping £75m for the transfer of forwards Sadio Mane and Felipe Anderson from Southampton and Lazio respectively. With various reports claiming both players will undergo a medical at the club by tomorrow ( Friday ).
United manager Louis Van Gaal, who is looking for quality reinforcements to resurrect his team’s disappointing season, could complete the double transfers this week after agreement was reached on their fees.
Senegalese forward Sadio Mane has been linked with the Red Devils for many months and those intensified at the weekend after he was dropped for their last game at Norwich City due to disciplinary reasons. According to the Sun, his transfer fee is around £35m with wages over a period of 4 years taking the entire package up to £62m.
Lazio and Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson will however cost more than Mane with a transfer fee of £40m in addition to a hefty £170,000 weekly, which is more than double the £70,000 per week salary he presently earns at his Italian club.
The arrival of the two technicians will no doubt improve Dutchman Van Gaal’s options upfront and also bring life to an attack that has misfired for the most parts of the current campaign with an assault on the Premier League title still not impossible.
