Liverpool have been nothing short of under-performing for the past two seasons and have had to change their manager of recent when they fired former manager Brendan Rodgers and brought in former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have only just netted nine English Premier League goals all season and this is owing to an intense shortage of quality striking options and to worsen this predicament, they have had to deal with injuries to their few and underscoring striking options. According to ESPN however, they could be planning a remedy to this dilemma as they are planning a January move for Leicester City in-form striker Jamie Vardy to solve their problems.
Vardy who is just 28, has just broken into the England squad and is the English Premier League top scorer at the moment. He has scored in every one of his last seven games and has a goal tally of 10 goals so far this season which is way more than the likes of Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane have scored so far this season.
Vardy’s incredible run of form has also caught the eye of Tottenham according to ESPN and they too are keeping tabs on the striker.
Leicester paid £1m to sign Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood Town in 2012 and since then, he has only progressed in leaps and bounds and has been a savior for Leicester as he helped fire the Foxes to promotion to the Premier League in the 2013-14 season with 16 goals. Then with Leicester on the brink of relegation last season, Vardy struck decisive goals against West Brom and Burnley – both which proved to be winners- to keep his side up.
It remains to be seen however if his club will be ready to part ways with him and be left hanging with him gone.
