The Blues will now have to face Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League competition and will be hoping to continue the winning run.
Manager Jose Mourinho decided to bench a few first team players against Aston Villa yesterday including star playmaker and current PFA player of the year Eden Hazard and Serbian star midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Eden Hazard was brought on in the 83rd minute to see off the game against Villa and probably to remain fit for the Champions League match.
Chelsea defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic also started the game on the bench yesterday and made a substitute appearance. The Serbian star should be returning to the starting line up as well for the Blues during the week.
In the absence of Ivanovic, Azpilicueta may again start as right back and Baba Rahman should be the left back. Here is Chelsea’s probable XI vs Dynamo Kyiv.
Goalkeeper should remain Asmir Begovic.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Baba Rahman at defence from right to left back.
The midfield should include Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas
Pedro Rodriguez, Oscar and Eden Hazard and of course the lone striker will remain Diego Costa.
Maybe Chelsea can rack up another three points in the Champions League.
