Few days back, the Chelsea caption John Terry openly admitted that his contract was expiring in the summer and he wasn’t offered with a renewed deal. According to the 35 year old captain, he made it clear to the club that he wanted to stay. But despite his wishes, there has been no dialogue about a potential new deal.
Previously, Terry disclosed that he was set to leave Chelsea as a free agent after the season ends since talks over a new contract had broken down. The current captain has played 478 Premier League for Chelsea and is passionate about the club.
Last Monday, the club declared that they did not completely rule out the future contract for Terry. After the 1-1 draw with Manchester United, he was asked of anything had changed. Even though the boss suggested that he could stay, there has been “no communication” about the deal. He said nothing has changed from his point of view.
“I made it very clear I wanted to stay,” the captain added. When Hiddink was asked the same question he replied, “I’m not going to speculate.”
Terry is already sentimental about the thought of him leaving the club. “I’ll never forget my memories here and they will live with me forever.” After the news of his possible departure, he has been linked with moves to United States for Major League Soccer and to Qatar side Al Arabi.
