Liverpool blow Manchester City’s title hopes at Anfield

It seemed as if Liverpool took their revenge from Manchester City for the Sunday’s League Cup final. Liverpool was certainly the best team on the ground and bashed City with a 3-0 win.

Manchester City is now 10 points below the table toppers Leicester City and as more games are going by, this difference is becoming hard to overcome. The Blues need to consider the teams below them and understand that they too have the strength to defeat them. Manchester United is level with City on points and can overcome them if City continues to lose crucial points.

Manchester City boss was fully confident over Raheem Sterling playing against his ex-team. But with his woeful performance in the first half, Pellegrini was forced to replace him with Wilfried Bony, who was equally ineffective. Home fans booed Sterling on every touch but due to his poor performance, he soon became invisible.

The man of the match was Adam Lallana who was in an incredible form, and produced one of his best displays at Liverpool. Liverpool manager, Klopp was delighted by the result and said, “It was the best reaction I can imagine. It was how it should be. I said to the boys that we have to show that we want it more and from the first second on that was exactly the attitude.”

The Premier League just got even more excited, with Arsenal losing to Swansea, Tottenham losing to West Ham and City losing to Liverpool, the title is open.
