Arsenal were comfortably 1-0 up until half time, after which they were down to 10-men, all due to the mistimed tackle of Francis Coquelin. Immediately after the dismissal of Francis, Spurs fired in two quick goals, including Harry Kane’s wonderful strike just inside in box.
Following the result with Watford later on Saturday, Leicester see themselves eight points clear off Arsenal.
In the post match interview, Arsene Wenger was asked for his take on Arsenal’s title chances, he said: “I don’t know because I don’t know what to say anymore about that. Everybody drops points so let’s see what happens over the weekend.”
“I think we have to take encouragement from our performance today and we have to produce that until the end of the season then we might have a chance.”
Arsenal had beaten Leicester 3 weeks ago, which turned the momentum into Gunner’s favor, following Leicester’s drop in their run, but unfortunately for Arsenal, Gunners haven’t won any of the last 5 games in all competitions. Wenger has clearly told that this is the best chance Arsenal has to end their 12 year wait for Premier League title. “Maybe, yes. Last year we had no chance but now I don’t know,” he said. “We are in a position where we not only depend on our own results but the results of teams like Leicester.”
