It will have taken longer to read this sentence than it took Al Hilal to take a 1-0 lead over Al Shoalah in a Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup tie last weekend.
Nawaf Al Abed took the opening touch from a teammate and lofted a left-footed shot all the way down the pitch and over the head of the Al Shoalah goalkeeper.
The play took less than three seconds, and set the tone early – very early – for Al Hilal’s 4-0 victory.
