Saturday World Cup Schedule, Fixtures – June 26

We have finally reached the knockout stage at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. After two weeks of robust, entertaining and exciting play the knockout stage begins with two attractive matches involving the final 16.

At a match time of 10am Eastern, Uruguay has been drawn to meet South Korea. The Uruguay football team won their Group A with a 2-0-1 record. South Korea went 1-1-1.

Later today at 2:30pm, the US are back in action against Ghana. Four years ago Ghana beat the US, but Team USA has to be riding high after that late goal Wednesday against Algeria.

Uruguay v. South Korea, 10 a.m. in Port Elizabeth
USA v. Ghana, 2:30 p.m. in Rustenburg

  1. The World Cup soccer tournament ought to be played every two years, and should double the number of teams involved. It doesn’t make sense to wait four years anymore.
