Tenth-ranked Croatia is the highest rated team that did no qualify for World Cup 2010. Three World Cup nations are ranked in the 80s: New Zealand is No. 82, South Africa is No. 85 and Korea DPR is No. 86.

The biggest jump during the year came as Algeria moved up 38 places in 2009 to end the year at No. 26.
